Five ways to feel good
Dr. Leonard says HELLO! Reaching 93 years of age this year, things are a little quieter on the home front, but Doc continues attending weekly lab meetings as well as enjoying his gardens, swimming pool and daily visits with family.
1. Feel free to reach out and say hello back to Doc at Leona002@umn.edu. He feels good and hopes you do too!
The cancer research lab is making exception progress this year! They are engineering bacteria to deliver proteins to tumors that bind to receptors on the surface of immune cells, that cause the immune cells to recognize and destroy cancer cells.
This bacteria is also engineered to be invisible to the immune system as it travels throughout the body seeking tumors to colonize. In this way, the lab is developing a nontoxic therapy to eliminate cancer and establish an immune memory to prevent its return.
2. You can find the most recent (and good) information on the research at here.
We hope you know how much we appreciate your support of this cancer therapy. With your help, we are getting close to reaching our 2023 goal of keeping the lab fully funded for another year.
3. Please consider a year end contribution to Doc’s Cancer Research Fund at here and feel good knowing you are helping to advance the cancer therapy from bench to bedside.
A big shout out and Thank You to Kōvly Studio for choosing us as the recipient of their 2023 Philanthropy Project to refresh our website and communications for Dr. Leonard’s Cancer Research Fund.
4. Check out our fresh new website at www.ASLcancerfund.org! We love the new design and the good news it delivers.
Please save the date of April 18th, 2024, for Doc’s Cancer Shootout at the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
5. Photos, corporate sponsorships, registration, and more information on Doc’s Cancer Shootout can be found here. It’s all GOOD!
